Windows Trezor Suite refuses to connect via Bluetooth to my Safe 7

  1. The Safe 7 is running firmware 2.10.0.0. Firmware type is “universal”. Bluetooth version is 1.0.2.0. Trezor Suite is version 26.2.3.
  2. I turn the Safe 7 off and then I power it up again.
  3. On the Safe 7 I change the device name to “broken”.
  4. On the Safe 7 I turn off Bluetooth. Then I turn it back on.
  5. On the Safe 7 I “forget all” Bluetooth pairings. I then click “pair new device”.
  6. Safe 7 says “broken is your Trezor’s name. Continue in the app.”
  7. I go to my windows computer. I turn off Bluetooth. I turn Bluetooth on again. In Windows Bluetooth there is no listing of a “Trezor” device.
  8. I launch Trezor Suite. I click to “connect Trezor”. I get a screen “connect your Trezor select a device to connect” and there is one choice “broken Trezor Safe 7 - charcoal black” and I click the green button “connect”.
Immediately the Trezor Safe 7 jumps away from “continue in the app” and now invites me to “pair new device” or “forget all”.
  9. In Trezor Suite I see a red popup saying “Error: not connected X”. In Trezor Suite it once again invites me to “Turn on & unlock your Trezor Safe 7” and says “scanning for nearby Trezors”.
  10. In Safe 7 I click “Pair new device” again. Safe 7 says “broken is your Trezor’s name. Continue in the app.”
  11. In Trezor Suite I get a screen “connect your Trezor select a device to connect” and there is one choice “broken Trezor Safe 7 - charcoal black” and I click the green button “connect”.
  12. Immediately the Trezor Safe 7 jumps away from “continue in the app” and now invites me to “pair new device” or “forget all”.
  13. In Trezor Suite I see a red popup saying “Error: not connected X”. In Trezor Suite it once again invites me to “Turn on & unlock your Trezor Safe 7” and says “scanning for nearby Trezors”.
  14. I can then repeat steps 10-13 as often as I like and it remains impossible to connect the Safe 7 to my Windows computer.
If I give up and use a cable, I am able to connect the Safe 7 to my windows computer.

My android phone is able to connect via Bluetooth to the Safe 7. But during the troubleshooting above, I turned off Bluetooth on my android phone.
