Suite application update: poor UX or a bug?

Not sure if this is a bug or poor UX but in Trezor Suite I get a banner asking me to update by visiting https://suite.trezor.io/ where further instructions will be provided.

When I click the link I just arrive on the suite homepage instead of a dedicated landing page with update instructions.

What’s a user to do? Do I download the latest .dmg file and just overwrite the old application?

Yes, overwriting installation will do.

which banner are you referring to, please share a screenshot and what version of Suite and FW are you using. You might be running the old version that did not have auto update.

You do not need to visit any site, both Suite and FW updates happen in the app, alternatively you can update by accessing the settings.
