Hello and thanks to anyone who may be able to help.
Been a user for like 4 years and have always used local labels, but have had ongoing issues with labels being wrong or wallets mislabeled with another wallet’s label, or 2 wallets with one wallet’s label, etc. Anyway recently the label issues got bad enough that I decided to try to use Google Drive instead so I connected Drive and relabeled everything. Here’s the issue:
Suite version 25.1.2, BTC only, 3 hidden wallets. Here’s how I can reproduce the strange UI thing I don’t understand.
- Eject all wallets so Suite displays nothing. Looks good.
- Plug in device. Enter passphrase for all 3 wallets separately. Cool. I see all 3. I see the labels and they are all correct. Looks fine so far.
- Click to enable view only mode for all 3 hidden wallets.
- Eject/disconnect Trezor device. I still see only 3 wallets. They are still labeled correctly. Good.
- Quit & Restart Suite (Trezor device still not connected).
Now, I see 6 different wallets. Above the 3 correctly labeled ones that I actually want to see displayed, there are 3 more. Each of these displays a $0.00 balance and says “Click to discover wallet.”
But now I just want to make these 3 seemingly random wallets disappear, I just prefer to not look at them. So I click eject on one of the $0.00 wallets. Now, I see 5 wallets. One of the $0.00 wallets was “ejected” (it disappeared) but wait, now one of the labeled wallets no longer has a label, and displays as though it is no longer “View only enabled”. Instead, this wallet says “Click to discover wallet.” Bizarrely, it still displays the balance that that wallet has. And also strange, if I restart Suite, now I see all 6 wallets again, the 3 with the correct labels, all three displaying as View Only.
So, my guess is that when Suite is restarted somehow it creates these 3 extra wallet “cards” (whatever the UI term for these discrete little wallet UI pieces), which are somehow related to the actual view only wallets. I’m not sure if this is related to labels or something else. Functionally, I can still use the wallets. But I really wish I could get Suite to simply only display the wallets that I’ve labeled and set as View Only, and not these “phantom” cards or whatever they are.
The only way to do so is to eject all, re-enter passphrases, and never quit or restart Suite.
Any ideas on how to get this to look correct? Or is there just something I’m misunderstanding? I’m wondering if I should try to click this App Storage → Reset app button…?
