I forgot my Trezor 3 Safe password. I restored my wallet and it is not showing any coins in the connected wallet. I tried this 2 times. The original wallet shows the coins but is view only since it is not connect. I went to the wallet showing the coins and looked in the activity and it shows i connected it today but then there is a Address verification error: Canceled error. I just updated the trezor safe and suite to 25.6.3. Can someone please help! Much appreciated!
@rborghesi Thanks for sharing the screenshot—this is actually a really helpful view, and I think I can clarify what’s happening.
You’re Seeing a Different Wallet Than Your Original One
The wallet showing your balance is currently marked as “View-only enabled” and disconnected, which suggests that it was previously connected to Trezor Suite.
However, the Trezor Safe 3 wallet that’s currently connected is showing a $0.00 balance, which strongly suggests that it’s tied to a different backup (formerly recovery seed) than the one used to generate the wallet holding your funds.
Why This Happens
Since you’re seeing a valid wallet but with no balance, it means you’ve restored a wallet that’s technically correct, but not the one you used originally.
What to Do Next
To regain access to the wallet holding your crypto:
Wipe and recover your Trezor Safe 3 with the exact same wallet backup you originally used when originally setting up the wallet.
Make sure you’re entering the wallet backup words in the correct order.
If you’re unsure what wallet backup is correct, try locating the original backup you wrote down when you first set up your Trezor. That will be the key to recovering access.
Let me know how it goes or if you need help walking through recovery steps!
Thanks Nick, I however only have one wallet backup. I created this in February and have not touched it since.
Is there a chance i could have accidently created another wallet during the initial set up process. If so either way I don’t have another wallet backup.
The weird thing is, is if my trezor had another wallet back up on the screen i would have written it down.
I have verified the accounts that i sent my xrp and ethereum to are different then the receiving address in this wallet.
All 3 wallets displayed in your Trezor Suite are standard wallets with view-only enabled. That indicates they are from different wallet backups as there is only one standard wallet per backup.
Have you completed the wallet creation process multiple times? That could be an explanation for what you are seeing.
The first one I created was the original, The second was when I couldn’t remember my password, the third was when I rest suit to factory settings. The second and third were all wallet recoveries not new wallets. Every time i wiped and recovered a new wallet showed up on the left hand side of the suite. I have used the same wallet recovery for both the second and the third.
Hi Nick,
Thanks for your help! here is a list of everything i did. I sent this to trezor.
Feb 2025 bought a trezor 3 safe
Created a new wallet, followed the instructions in detail and wrote my backup down carefully. It was stored with my trezor ever since.
checked everything and sent over all my crypto
i remember being able to see it on the trezor screen. Everything is good!
-Dont touch it until July 2025 a few days ago.
-I cannot remember the password for the trezor. No problem I have the backup.
-Follow the instructions to wipe and recover my wallet
-I put in the wallet backup that i wrote down carefully. The trezor says it is successfully restored my wallet.
-At that point in time it is asking me up upgrade the firmware. I follow the instructions.
-After doing all this my trezor suite looks like this: This is the first picture
Now I am worried because the funds dont transfer.
I view the activity in the wallet with the funds (View-only wallet) and it shows me this: This is the second picture
-Ok is shows on the activity of the view only wallet with funds that the wallet was successfully added.
-Ok they must be connected but there is address verification error: Cancelled
-So there is an error.
-I go to the account and make sure the ethereum and XRP accounts are added.
-I go to the application settings and reset the app storage since it is this first step for troubleshooting.
-I restore my wallet again and it still shows zero and the view wallet is gone.
-This is the point i am at today.
-I am now very scared because i checked the wallet I sent all my ethereum to and xrp and they are different from the current trezor receiving addresses.
-I also checked and am assuming if the view-only wallet with funds in the picture says its a standard wallet it is not a passphrase protected wallet. is this correct?
It’s possible that during your recovery process you are entering an incorrect backup word, and generating the wrong wallet. I would recommend checking our list of Commonly misspelled wallet backup words to see if there is a misspelling.
The error you are viewing is related to checking the address without confirming it on the device. It has no effect on your ability to access funds.
