PIN Invalid When Accessing Wallet (PIN is not working)

Heii @Filip

Above from community support:

Please note that Trezor can’t just randomly change your PIN so the input you are entering has to be different than what was set before.
What model do you use ? If it is the model T and your touchscreen is not working properly we’d be happy to proceed to RMA-
Also, you can recover your wallet with any BIP39 compatible wallets.

Information on how to enter and reset a forgotten PIN can be found here: How to enter PIN on Trezor Model One and Trezor Model T

I have same problem. I did first settings, i tried pin but was incorrect. I was 90% sure, so i did factory reset and set 1111 as a pin (just for try). I was able to log in once and after disconnecting and connecting pin is again invalid. 1111 is not that hard isnt it…
I have trezor one.
A taky bych uvítal českou podporu

Was there any resolution on this issue? I got my Trezor T in 2021, saved the pin and the seed on the metal thing that I got with my purchase. I had issues setting it up initially, the passcode and seed wouldn’t work. I had to reset it and start again. On reset the seed and PIN code worked perfect so I went ahead and transferred my coin to the wallet. I carefully keep the seed on the metal thing, put it away and didn’t worry.
Today I opened up my wallet on my laptop and everything looked great. It prompted me to update the software so I did, and from there, nothing works. I’ve downloaded the new software to two laptops, tried my pin and it’s not working. I’m scared to reset it.
Any suggestions?
Should I buy another compatible wallet and recover my wallet using my seed ? Or try a reset of my current wallet?
I’ve seen many unhappy forum threads about the updates causing these issues, so I’m already resigned to the fact that I’ve lost my coin.
Thanks

This is absolutely ridiculous. I have the same issue, and trezor support just doesn’t want to acknowledge the fact.

100% sure also that my PIN is correct, I know it 100% off by heart, doublechecked with what I had written down etc.

Same here. Didn’t use the trezor for awhile, went to use it and was certain of the pin. But it always said the pin was invalid. Had to wipe the Trezor and recover and used it a few times successfully … and didn’t use it for a couple of months and once again it has forgotten my pin. I am certain that I know the correct pin. This has not been a great experience.

Hi @yoderme,

Trezor cannot forget your PIN. Most Likely you are entering the incorrect one. Try to reset your Trezor again and try to set some easy-to-remember PIN (for example “1111”). If the PIN is not recognized after some time, please let us know.

Exactly the same as everyone above. I know my pin 100% and it’s not letting me login to confirm a transaction. Trezor 1. Doesn’t work. End of. Please don’t tell me I’ve inputted the wrong pin. That would be annoying.

Hi @abetaudier,

May I kindly ask you to provide the same test as mentioned in the previous post in this thread?

If the newly created PIN is not recognized, please let us know. Thank you very much!

perhaps as people are entering the pin that does not work, their touchscreen is malfunctioning, my touchscreen has stopped working, i press a number and it might accept the touch and it might not, then i hit the enter button and it adds more numbers to my pin, sometimes it deletes them. This seems to be a malfunctioning touch screen.

I would like a replacement. I have submitted a support ticket, 228410.

This is a faulty device. It works fine, i use it every 6 months for the past 3 years, and now it doesnt work. It is rarely used, stored in my safe, and this time i take it to check my balances and it isnt working…

Hello Everyone - I’m about three years late to this party but my PIN issue is the same. It won’t give me access to my accounts on trezor suite and my PINs are the same PINs I’ve been using for years. I’m at 4,000 seconds and this is getting weird and producing some unwanted anxiety. @Jimi_Cote if you can explain in detail what you did I’d appreciate it. I don’t understand/trust the factory reset option. Or if anyone is reading this who can help please do so. Thank you all - be well - James P.S. it’s a trezor one

Hi @JC808,

First, please check this answer from a similar thread.

I would like to mention that there is no need to worry about performing the factory reset if you have your wallet backup (recovery seed).

Information on how to reset PIN can be found at How to reset PIN for Trezor hardware wallets

Context:
Original TREZOR haven’t used in a while.
Download newest suite. Refuses the firmware I have
Try online. Refuses the firmware I have.
Update the firmware.
Newest suite accepts the updated TREZOR, but does NOT accept the PIN (numerous tries - yes it’s correct)

Solution:
Uninstall the suite.
Install the last version I used on previous computer (Trezor-Suite-21.12.2-win-x64.exe) and fortunately kept the installer.
Works fine with new firmware and what was always the correct PIN (Glad this worked but not at all pleased !)

same happening to me, a trezor iv used for 3 years now wont accept the pin and keeps going up in verifying time from 50secs- 550 secs. painful this when there is a huge bunch of money on there

Hi,
Same thing happened to me, I am 100% sure that the pin is correct. I opened my trezor one after a long time, and pin does not work I am at 500 sec of waiting time now.

I will try what others have said, i.e. Installing old suite.

Mannn this is wierd, it forced me to never buy trezor again.

Is this issue still not recognized by trezor team ?

Hi have the same issue. and 100% sure pin is correct.

My problem as well. Very frustrating!

Hi - As mentioned by @radekP it is possible to reset your PIN through the factory reset process. This is completely safe to perform so long as you have your wallet backup.

Were you able to access Trezir? Im having same problems. Up to 8000 seconds

@AllieH52 I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties accessing your Trezor.

Please be aware that if the PIN you enter is incorrect the device will double the amount of time it takes check the PIN and unlock until you enter the correct PIN (at which point the delay counter resets to 1-2 seconds). If the PIN is incorrectly entered 16 times in a row the device will wipe your seed, and you will need to recover it using your wallet backup.

If you have checked you have the correct backup, but are unsure of the PIN you might want to go ahead and wipe the device now to reset the PIN.
