I noticed that instead of a single “Use passphrase” button, there are now two: one to create a new passphrase and one to enter an existing one.
I’d like to understand why this was introduced and how the two options differ. Does the device or the website somehow remember the entered passphrase?
And what will happen if I enter my old passphrase while choosing the option to enter a new one?
No it doesn’t remember your password. If you type in an existing password you will just enter that wallet as expected. I think the option was introduced to save time in asking if you want a new wallet or existing.
There was also an option to keep your wallet balances showing (a view-only wallet) after ejecting your Trezor. You can disable this in the app’s setting (Settings > Eject wallets > Enable option to auto-eject)
Sorry let me correct myself. Should choose option to enter previously used. I think this is because of the different character sets that are supported as mentioned in this guide:
