just bough recently my Trezor One and during first set up, just before wallet back up got some weird things on display which become absoutly dark aftwards and nothing happend. And yes the package was ok. Is this safe to use Trezor? Does my Trezor has some technical issue with hardware? Also, it is discouraging to face with such situation from the start.
Yes, it is perfectly safe.
As far as we were able to determine, this is a glitch in the display controller chip. It can only happen in extremely specific situations, one of which (unfortunately) can happen at unboxing time.
Funnily enough, underneath all the artifacts the Trezor continues to work as normal.
This does not occur in normal use, and in fact it’s almost certain that you will not see the problem ever again.
