Hi,
I am a decently long time Trezor owner and have stored the majority of my portfolio on my Trezor since it was suggested to me by a friend. Recently, I decided to swap all of my sol for USDC and store it on my Trezor.
The following morning I was prompted to do a recovery phrase verification check which I did. I obviously pulled out my recovery phrases which were written on paper however when I went to input the first word I could not find my word. They were all a mix of random letters such as "xyb’ “ghow” “kzy” and so on. I did not recognize any of this and instantly realized something was very wrong. I went to unplug and replug my Trezor only to be met with the same issue and was noticing I couldn’t access my money until I entered all 20 words correctly. Obviously I couldn’t do this and began to panic. I then realized there were three lines which prompted me to exit the recovery verification and I was able to get back into my Trezor. I immediately sent off all the funds to fresh Phantom wallets and am no longer using that Trezor.
I opted to order two fresh ones as well as the private key seed vault however I am extremely paranoid of re-sending my portfolio among the two Trezors incase this happens again. I’m just creating this thread to see if anyone has had any similar experiences with such a thing or have any insight as to how this could have possibly happened? My only theory is I was very close to being exposed to a large scale hack a month or two ago and my recovery phrase was changed however this makes no sense because my money should have been taken as well. Any insight or support is appreciated.
Also does anyone have a direct contact for Trezor’s support team or is the forum the only place to receive support?
