Pairing my Trezor does not work

I got a Trezor 7 and when trying to pair it in Trezor suite, after entering the 6 digit code I get this error:

Acquire error Initialize failed: unexpected error

Can’t find any information online about this at all.

I’m running this on Windows 10 inside VMWare Workstation (and the device is properly connected to the VM)

Trezor doesn’t seem to have a discord or offer any kind of live chat/phone support, how is this considered the best hard wallet option?
