Lost access to hidden wallet after Trezor + MetaMask + Suite updates — Arbitrum account not showing anymore

Summary:
After recent updates to Trezor firmware, Trezor Suite, and MetaMask, I completely lost access to a hidden wallet that was previously accessible through MetaMask connected to my Trezor.

I still have:

  • The seed phrase of my Trezor device
  • The passphrase for the hidden wallet
  • The MetaMask seed phrase (for the extension)
  • The exact Arbitrum address where my funds are held (verified on Arbiscan)

This same setup still works on my old PC, where I can connect MetaMask to Trezor and see my correct Arbitrum account + balance.
However, on a new PC (with the latest browser, MetaMask, and Trezor Suite versions):

  • MetaMask no longer shows the same derived addresses
  • Even when entering the exact same passphrase, the expected wallet does not appear
  • Both Legacy and BIP44 derivation paths have been tested — the address is missing from all lists
  • When I try to transfer funds or sign a transaction, MetaMask freezes at “signing”
  • If Trezor Suite is closed, MetaMask gets stuck waiting for the popup (throbber spins indefinitely)
  • If Suite is open, I get the public key export confirmation on the Trezor device, but the signing process never completes

I suspect the issue is related to the new Trezor-Suite-based WebUSB bridge or firmware communication layer, since the old PC (with older Suite and MetaMask versions) still works fine.

What I need:

  1. Access to older Trezor Suite releases that support the previous MetaMask connection flow
  2. Instructions on how to safely downgrade firmware to the matching version
  3. Clarification on whether MetaMask → Trezor → Arbitrum connections now require Trezor Suite running in the background
  4. Guidance to recover the exact same Arbitrum address derived from my Trezor + passphrase combination

System details:

  • Working setup: Old PC with outdated Suite and MetaMask (exact versions unknown)
  • Broken setup: New PC with latest Trezor Suite, MetaMask, and Brave browser
  • Firmware: Latest version installed during troubleshooting
  • OS: Windows 10
  • Browser: Brave (also tested Chrome and Firefox)

Hello @P0ssum

There is a problem in the latest Metamask version, which prevents accessing the funds on Trezor device. Metamask already fixed it, and it should be released in their newest version, which is probably is next week.

If you need instant access, for most users, we recommend Rabby Wallet as it does not require manual configuration for EVM networks and tokens. To get started, download the Rabby desktop app or browser extension from Rabby.io. Pair your Trezor device with Rabby Wallet to receive and send funds on these EVM networks.
