Hello there,
Started using Trezor Safe 3 for a year now, and everything is perfect, never had any issues.
Now i manage to make a bit more money which i was sending to the Trezor address.
Now im a bit scared to turn the Trezor on my laptop, scared that somehow someone will transfer the money to them. The address of Trezor coin im checking everytime to see the balance so i know everything goes well.
My Laptop is secure but still its not 100% secure since my brother is using it and maybe he entered some websites which he shouldn’t.
Lets make a scenario that now i have the strongest virus on the laptop, will it be able to drain my money from Trezor wallet? Is it really 100% safe and no virus can pass the transcation or find the key phrase.
Key phrase was only shown once on start to write them physically on paper and never more it was shown either saved on a device.
As of 2025, every security hole discovered so far on the Trezor Safe 3, or its precursor Trezor T, required physical access to the Trezor device.
In other words: if your computer is totally infected, running nothing but viruses on top of other viruses, accessible over the internet to everyone who glances briefly in its direction…
…and you plug a Trezor into this computer…
…and then lock the door and post a guard in front of the computer room…
…there is no known way to get your money off that Trezor.
That said, there is no such thing as 100% security. “No known way today” does not mean “no known way tomorrow.”
Trezor devices are designed to be secure even if the PC is infected – still, it is a good idea to use a good antivirus. An infected PC can cause you problem even if it doesn’t steal your seed outright.
Having healthy system is always a good thing regardless to whether you are a crypto user.
I would recommend having a separate system (laptop or desktop) that you use Only for accessing your crypto wallet.
Nothing else should be done on this machine: no web browsing, no not crypto-related apps.
It’s just additional layer, that may secure you from viruses or prevent you from being hacked.
