Hi,in iran there is a company called “dorj” which they make hardware wallet which works as like as trezor and they said that trezor applied their product and trezor confirmed their product ( for short dorj wallet has trezor company confirmed as valid) is this right or what cause they say they sent the hardware to the trezor company and they verified it and …
Trezor is open-source and open hardware so technically anyone is allowed to make a clone, as long as they don’t infringe on Trezor trademarks.
Dorj is using a different name and different branding, so they should be good on that front, in theory…
…buuut…
There is no cooperation between Trezor and Dorj. If Dorj is claiming that they are verified by Trezor, there could be a problem.
Could you post here what Dorj is actually saying and where? If you don’t want to post in a public forum, you may also open a ticket via Support | Trezor Knowledge Base and link to this forum post.

common questions : one before the last question said how we can trust to dorj
in translate it said : Dorj uses Trezor’s secure infrastructure and puts the wallet software with the signature of Satoshi Leb, who is the creator of Trezor, on the hardware that is made according to Trezor’s standards.
Dorj software or firmware is installed on the Dorj from the main Trezor website.

last question that someone asked : how we can trust dorj its cheaper and …
their answer : The components used in the DORJ wallets are all Trezor certified and are exactly the same components that Trezor uses. If this were not the case, the Trezor software would not work on DORJ, and we would not be able to receive wallet updates directly from the official Trezor website. DORJ is licensed by Trezor, and the Trezor company is aware of our existence. In fact, you have access to Trezor technology at a more affordable price, along with Persian support and step-by-step training with DORJ. Additionally, we provide a hardware warranty on our products and offer after-sales service since they are our own production.
i wanted to get a wallet from trezor but o saw dorj wallet which was cheap so i was wonder how is that so i sent many email to trezor support to get my answers but i did not get any reply cause many people calim that cause its persian made product and it works with trezor suit and web app its 100% secure and has no diffrent between the original trezor
Thanks for the info.
I believe this really depends on the exact wording, and I don’t understand Persian so I’m using a translation service. My understanding is that Dorj claims that:
(a) “All the components are approved by Trezor”. (not “certified by Trezor”) This is weird and perhaps a bit misleading way to say that: Dorj is a straight up clone of Trezor, built using the same (off the shelf) components and same schematics. What they’re saying here is that since Trezor is using those components, the components are okay and so Dorj using them is also safe.
(b) They are “licenced by Trezor”, or, in my translation, “under Trezor’s licence”. Technically per the code and hardware licence, anyone is allowed to make and sell a clone of the Trezor hardware, so this is technically true – Dorj really is upholding the terms of Trezor’s licences.
(c) Trezor is aware of Dorj. This is simply true; there is no collaboration but Trezor does know that Dorj exists and what they do.
All boils down to this:
- Dorj is manufacturing Trezor clones,
- under their own brand, as to not infringe on Trezor trademarks,
- and this is an OK thing to do per Trezor licences.
Because the Dorj devices are identical to Trezors, the official Trezor firmware works on them with no modifications (including, presumably, security features), and you can use the devices with Trezor Suite.
(Teeeeechnically they’re on thin ice because while the case says Dorj, the screen says Trezor because it’s running the Trezor firmware. It’s probably a bad idea to start another company like that in the European or US market. But given that Trezor has no presence in Iran…)
It’s like if you bought the components yourself, built the device, and installed Trezor firmware on it – except that someone else is building the device.
Then it’s up to you as to how much you trust the Dorj brand, and how much you trust that there are no insecure modifications on the logic boards, or in the boardloader which is preloaded on the chip.
thanks for repsonde , i trust no one when it comes to security so i think its better to get original one rather than a some kind of clone which i cant read the codes in it or see what it does in detail
