IP address verification for transactions

My Trezor Suite is set to use Tor, so I am wanting to know if there is a way to confirm what the IP address of the exit node is. When trying to transfer crypto from Kraken, I was asked to confirm the IP address for the transaction. Checking my public IP address using Tor in a browser (What Is My IP and Nord VPN) is not showing up as the same IP address that Kraken is displaying. I anticipate that Kraken is obtaining the Trezor Suite Tor exit node, and that it’s different than the exit node from Tor in my browser. Is there a way to confirm the IP address for the transaction with the Tor toggle on?

there isn’t really a good way to figure out what IP address is sending your transaction: you actually send the transaction from your computer to some Bitcoin node, the nodes distribute it among the whole Bitcoin network, until finally it hits Kraken’s node from some arbitrary source

are you sure it’s IP address they’re asking about?

much more likely they want to know the sending address, that is the Bitcoin address that held the funds before sending them.

(this is problematic in its own right because you have multiple addresses and have to figure out which one sends this transaction, but that’s KYC regulations for you :frowning: )

After providing the receiving address for the wallet you want to transfer crypto to, Kraken sends an email telling you to confirm the data in the email before proceeding with the transaction. All that’s provided in that email is the IP address and country. Which seems ridiculous considering they have to know people use Tor with their wallets. I wondered if others have found a solution to this to transfer funds from Kraken and use Tor to do so.

(I hear you on the KYC regs, and as much as they tick me off I haven’t figured out a solid KYC-free system to leverage instead)
