How to Set Up Multiple Wallets on My Trezor Device?

Hey guys…

I recently purchased a Trezor hardware wallet and am excited to start using it. However, I’m a bit unsure about how to set up multiple wallets on the device. I’ve read that Trezor allows for multiple accounts, but I’d like some clarification on the best way to manage this.

Specifically, I want to know if it’s possible to have different wallets for various cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, and how I can switch between them seamlessly. Do I need to create separate accounts for each cryptocurrency, or can they all be managed under one main account?

Additionally, any tips on organizing and securing these wallets would be greatly appreciated. I’m particularly interested in any best practices for keeping my recovery phrase safe while still ensuring easy access to my funds.

Could anyone guide me about this? Lastly, if there are any recommended resources or guides that explain this process step-by-step, I’d love to hear about them!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @bixipi7618,

On Trezor Suite it’s possible to create up to 10 accounts for each cryptocurrency network you use with it; technically these are included in the same wallet. However, you need cryptocurrency on each account preceding another account before it allows you to access the next one for that specific network (for example you need bitcoin on your Bitcoin #1 account before you can create the Bitcoin #2 account). For more info see Manage Accounts in Trezor Suite, Multiple Accounts in Trezor Suite. It is of course fine to use just one account as well. On coins like Bitcoin that use the UTXO model you will use a new address each time you send Bitcoin to the same account, whereas on coins like Ethereum that use the Account model you will use one address for all of your trasnactions on the same account.

A good organizational tool for tracking your accounts, addresses, and transactions is the Labels feature in Trezor Suite.
