I am an elderly, bereaved parent. My child (26) was killed in a hit-and-run accident recently. I was aware of his cryptocurrency investments. I found his digital TREZOR wallet but don’t know how to enter his account and recover the funds. Please let me know how to proceed with this process. Thank you!
Sorry for your losses. The Trezor is designed and manufactured to be unbreakable for any reason. Even if you have the hardware in your possession, there is no way to access the cryptocurrency assets.
There are three things you should focus on, besides the Trezor. These are the PIN, the seed words and the passphrase. These three data might - or might not - be found locally in a hidden place sooner or later.
If these pieces of information are found, you should share it only with a fully trusted person. Do not at all publish this in this forum or anywhere else.
The Trezor does not know if you are authorized to receive the coins. Therefore, without this data, the coins will die along with the owner of the Trezor. Sorry for the bad news.
