Is there a way to connect the hw wallet trezor T to bitcoin core without electrum.
If so, can you please share a guide?
I read somewhere this was already accomplished but I cannot get it to work.

It can be done, yes.
It is, to quote:

Sorry I misread.
I thought @trezorpos wanted to connect to btc core with electrum. Only now realised it is to connect without electrum
