Buy btc on atm and send to trezor

Hi,

what is the simplest way to buy btc at ATMs and directly send it to trezor safe 3? since the btc address is constantly changing, do I have to have the safe 3 with me connected to the mobile phone via usb c when making a purchase to generate an address for me and then send it directly to the trezor… or can take a picture of my btc adress and scan it whil i m making a purchuse on atm?

Confused little bit, sorry

Hi @msegudovic,

We recommend using the first address you get whenever you connect the Trezor to Trezor Suite for your first Bitcoin transaction. The Trezor always generates the addresses in the same order when you connect it to Trezor Suite, so if you connect your Trezor to your computer, disconnect and reconnect it, you will get the same address until it has Bitcoin sent to it, at which point you’ll get your recovery seed’s next address.

And if you are using a mobile app please make sure it is the official Trezor Suite Lite app for your safety :grinning: More information about verifying addresses on Trezor Suite Lite is available on the Learn section of our website in the article The importance of verifying Trezor Suite Lite addresses

There is a BTC ATM near me that sends BTC to any address. To input the address, the ATM needs to scan a QR code.
(How) Can I buy BTC at this ATM with a Trezor device?

Hi @funruiner,
You have several options. Incomplete list may include:

  • print the QR code at home, visit ATM without Trezor HW device

  • in case of Android phone, use Trezor Suite Lite for Android and you have few sub-options:

    • Connect Trezor HW device by USB cable to your Android for ATM transaction
    • Connect Trezor HW device to Android phone at home and enable View-Only in Settings (you keep Trezor HW device safely at home)
    • Connect Trezor HW device to your Trezor Suite desktop app and scan XPUB into your Android application (you keep Trezor HW device safely at home)
  • in case of iPhone, use Trezor Suite Lite for iOS, but unfortunately due to Apple’s licensing policy, you can’t connect Trezor HW device to iPhone. So you scan XPUB same way like above.

Most secure way is to verify BTC address on Trezor HW display, i.e. connect it to Android or print QR shortly before usage.
