Bring back dash!

Dash has a huge market cap and millions of users. As I’m sure your internal statistics tell you, many of your devices have dash wallets on them.
If it’s regulatory pressure you’re facing, at least be open about it!

Hi @Krill,

this deprecation concerns only Trezor Suite, the deprecated coins are still supported in FW and can be used via 3rd party wallets.

For dash you can pair your Trezor with * Electrum Dash

I woke up on a cloudy weekend and thought I had a nightmare - that Trezor Suite was stopping support for Dash. And then I went to the forum to check and read this terrible news again. I can’t understand how this could have been solved? My friends and I bought Trezor only for safe storage of Dash. We bothered to create backup copies in different cities of the world in case of war, launched masternodes, and you are stopping support for the best crypto? It is difficult and expensive to switch to Ledger now. I don’t understand, which crypto in your opinion deserves support more than Dash? Which currency has all three most important properties of money at the same time, well, in addition to limited emission, protection from theft (including with the help of the best crypto wallet Trezor) and confiscation, etc. obvious advantages of real cryptocurrencies over fiat:

  1. Cheap instant transactions with double-spending protection in just 1-2 seconds (Dash chainlock)
  2. Privacy (simple and reliable CoinJoin+ in desktop and mobile wallets).
  3. Real decentralization with the launch and distribution of coins among everyone through PoW mining and the world’s first DAO?
Dash came up with and implemented a masternode system that made these three properties decentralized, and also significantly increased the reliability, sustainability and survivability of the network due to the motivation of those participating in supporting its work with payment (Proof of Service).
In total, only Dash managed to fully implement what Satoshi planned and described in the Bitcoin white paper - a decentralized private network of cheap and anonymous payments. Please remove any coins you want, but leave the truly innovative, time-tested, transparently distributed, dedicated and committed community like Bitcoin, Dash and Ethereum.

Electrum Dash is abandoned and no longer supported, which means it may contain vulnerabilities. Therefore, I ask the manufacturer to show respect to the users of their product, especially those who purchased a hardware wallet specifically for working with Dash. In this case, the minimum acceptable level of courtesy from Satoshi Labs would be to reach out to the Dash developer community and request the addition of hardware wallet support in the officially supported Dash Core application. If Satoshi Labs themselves have become afraid to support currencies with such unique qualities.

@mr-incognito

Not sure what makes you say that, there are regular fixes and development as you can see below and the latest release is from August.

If you have any other information, please let us know.

I am sure if you are aware of any vulnerabilities, you can address them to developers on their github https://github.com/pshenmic/electrum-dash/tree/4.1.7.5

If you take any coin and analyze it, then each one, except Dash, lacks at least one thing, but very important - either instant transactions, or privacy, or decentralization, or fair distribution. Most coins are generally created out of thin air on blockchains such as Ethereum, Tron or Ton and have fraudulent goals to make money with the help of an army of bots, a very murky “distribution” and actually belonging only to the creators and the price inflated by them for a long time by buying their own coins from themselves, added for bribery to exchanges and far away dumping these free coins to those who fell for the “fear and greed of lost profits”, etc. Dash has been unfairly accused of instamine for a long time, but these accusations are unfounded, since I clearly remember when Dash was launched - it was announced, discussed publicly and everyone could prepare in advance and join the coin mining (first X-coin, then Darkcoin and now Dash). The goal was not to copy and just earn like 99.9% of other Bitcoin or other coins, but to add features that could not be added to Bitcoin and without which it is impossible to be a means of payment - instant transactions, privacy, a reward for maintaining full nodes, etc. You can also participate in supporting the network and earn for this support, and now everyone who wants to, in at least three ways - through PoW mining, through PoSe for supporting masternodes and through a request for funding from the DAO. Only half of the Dash coins have been mined, and the second half will be mined for more than 200 years plus network user fees. So Dash is really the best crypto

Thank you for you feedback, and I can clarify again that nothing changes in FW.
The assets will still be supported by the Trezor firmware, so you can continue to protect your funds by using your Trezor hardware wallet.

You can still use dash with all its advantages that you mentioned using Trezor.

It is unclear to many how it is possible to throw away a coin that has brought so much innovation to crypto from the official application of the best hardware wallet.

Nothing is being thrown away, the functionality remains the same in FW as mentioned before regardless of application you are using.

Apparently I was misled. Thsnks for your reply.

Were you forced to remove Dash? You can simply remove the ability to exchange Dash but leave storage

No. This change is part of our effort to enhance the overall user experience and to focus on the most widely used cryptocurrencies.

And again, everything stays the same in firmware you can still use dash.

If there is hardware support for Dash in a third-party wallet, then that is still good. For example, Stellar XLM is also not supported directly in Suite, but it can be stored and moved through third-party interfaces, and that is cool.

This way you will lose a lot of clients. Dash has a large fan community. Is it really possible that some resources are spent on leaving the dash in the Trezor Suite?

If we count all the resources spent by the Trezor team, what percentage goes to simply leaving Dash in the Trezor suite (approximately, this will be something like 0.00000000001% of all labor costs)? And what percentage of your users use Dash in Trezor Suite (you should have this statistic, it’s clearly higher)

This is absolutely incomprehensible to me from the team! My partners and I are very disappointed!
And this disappointment happened twice! A few months ago, when a new wallet was announced, Dash support was indicated in its announcement. For this reason, I ordered new wallets for myself and my family members. But a few weeks later, support was removed from the official page and new wallets were released without Dash support.
Now I see that Dash is being removed from the official application! What the hell, team? Are you being forced to deliberately remove Dash support from your products? Dash is the best cryptocurrency for payments, which has a huge number of fans, and you treat them with such disdain!
I do not want to use third-party interfaces! I am used to the interface of your wallet, it is convenient and well-thought-out! I trust you. Why are you doing this to your users! This is madness! I am very upset and disappointed! (((

Could the Trezor team explain why you’re dropping support for DASH? At this rate, you’ll soon be removing Bitcoin, Litecoin, or Doge, and then your wallet will be nothing but a useless piece of junk.

First, you didn’t add TRX because they refused to promote you, and now you’ve crossed another red line.

I hope people stop buying your wallets. I was planning to get a new one, but not anymore. You’re going downhill fast, just like Ledger.

I can confirm this electrum-dash wallet is legit and updated.

Trezor team I trust that Dash proved it’s fundamentals over the 10 years of it’s existence.
This coin grew on fundamentals, kept the original vision of Satoshi and always innovates.
Even recently, a month ago, it released its long awaited Platform Evolution.
Dash brought so much to the crypto space and we were going hand in hand together with you as OGs in this space.
I understand that you will keep the firmware on your backend to support Dash but this is simply not the same!
People who don’t see Dash on Trezor Suite will think, and I already have received myself a couple of requests from people, why you abandon Dash completely.
Dash community is really big and discontinuation on Trezor Suite is like sayin NO to your business.
People wanted to buy new Trezor Safe, some already did to discover you already pushed Dash back there.
Please reconsider your decision inside the team and I really hope to see you revert this decision.

I was very sad to hear you removing support for dash. I don’t think it’s right to always try and support hype coins that eventually die. Look deeper at dash and their longevity and continuous innovation.

I hope you reverse your decision for dash and support something that is trying to do good in this space which is a rare thing. Most coins are just pump and dumps. Dash is not.

I bought trezor for its support for dash and it will be sad to move to a competitor along with a large number of people I know who will be doing the same thing.
