AVAX on Trezor Safe 3

I’m having a hard time determining whether Avalanche (AVAX) is supported on the Trezor Safe 3/Trezor Suite.

Supported Coins & Assets | Trezor Hardware Wallets claims that is it is supported in Trezor Suite.

Keep Your Avalanche (AVAX) Safe with Trezor Wallet Instructions here generically say to “Open Trezor Suite app, select your asset (activate first if needed)”, but there is no such account available to select in the application.

I know that AVAX was once only supported through third-party wallets, but this appears to have since been added natively to the Trezor Suite application, with development being confirmed here: Avalanche in Trezor Suite : r/TREZOR

However, no matter what I do, I cannot seem to find resources on this. There doesn’t appear to be anything that I can do in the Trezor Suite application. When I connected Exodus to my Trezor Safe 3, it listed that Trezor support is not available for this coin.

So which is it? Is AVAX supported with this wallet at all? If so, is a third-party wallet required? Instructions for getting this to work as advertised would be appreciated.

From my understanding, Avalanche supports several networks, including the Avalanche network itself, BEP20 (BSC), and AVAXC.

According to Trezor’s “Supported Coins” page, the network supported for the AVAX coin is the Avalanche network, not BEP20 and not AVAXC.

However, based on the image you shared from Exodus, the supported networks for Avalanche there are BEP20 (BSC) and AVAXC.

For a more precise answer, you can wait for a reply from the official Trezor staff.

Hi @alibaba

In Trezor Suite advanced settings, there is currently a possibility to enable the Avalanche C-Chain network directly in the app. You can simply enable this feature in the Settings:

I appreciate that information. The documentation should probably be updated on the AVAX page, since I don’t think anyone would have found that on their own (;

@alibaba

Thanks for your update. This network is still in the experimental mode. It will be updated once it is in the official version of Trezor Suite, enabled by default.
