Upgrade security on Trezor Model T

Hi I have the Trezor Model T which I set up with a single backup.

Now I would like to use a more secure Shamir backup with multiple seed phrases (2/3 multisig).

How do I do this?
Should I transfer my BTC elsewhere, reset the Trezor and then create a new Shamir backup or is there a way of overwriting the seed phrase and upgrade from single backup to Shamir backup without moving the BTC stored?

Hi @Enrique, in order to ā€œupgradeā€ to Shamir backup you will have to create new wallet with newly generated seed.

And because In hierarchical deterministic wallets, such as Trezor, all private keys and addresses (public keys) are derived from the userā€™s recovery seed, you will have to transfer your assets to the newly generated (shamir backed up) wallet.

So there is no way of overwriting the seed phrase and upgrade from single backup to Shamir backup without moving your assets.
