Hi - i’ve only recently joined the forum, and I like my new Trezor thingy (very technical I know)
I have been reading as much as i can on the forums and noted a couple of posts about updates and people saying they had lost coins. I also read the answers which talked about passphrases, and the fact that an innacurately entered passphrase would essentially create a new, empty wallet.
I am in no way seeking to disrespect anyone who has run into issues or may have mis-keyed an entry - I regularly make typos. I’m really seeking reassurance that the root cause of this believe that “an update causes issues” is actually down to users making a completely understandable mistake (again, not seeking to denigrate anyone)
Basically - I think i should apply updates as and when they come out - and, if i choose to use a passphrase - be very sure of what it is.
Is that a fair statement ?
Also - 1 supplementary question - i asked previously about if i misplaced my Trezor device - i understand the pin code is what protects access to it - so there is merit in a long passcode ?
thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to read and reply to these queries
Si
