I’ve been using a Trezor Safe 3 for six months and today when I opened Trezor Suite, the system wants to run a check on the authenticity of the Trezor, which was purchased direct from Trezor. I can’t recall but I imagine the system verified authenticity when it was first connected. Anyway, I ran the authenticity check but after 10 minutes of no progress I pulled out the Trezor as it seemed to me this might be some kind of hack.
Is this kind of 6 month check normal? Should I be concerned about this, if so, what shoudl I do now?
@MarkG This is not something that Trezor Suite would ask you every six months, but if you recently deleted the app data from Trezor Suite such as through the app reset setting or a 3rd party utility tool to clean your file system this would erase any information from your computer related to previously connecting the Trezor Safe 3, and require the authenticity check before you could connect it to Trezor Suite again.
Remember to confirm you wish to make the authenticity check on the Trezor Safe 3 device itself or it will not complete. You can also see the progress of the authenticity check on the Trezor Safe 3 screen itself once you confirm you wish it to happen.
Personally, I have to do authenticity checks with my Trezor Safe 3 and Trezor Safe 5 devices on a regular basis after resetting Trezor Suite and device settings between the Trezor Expert sessions I do.
