Hi,
Same thing happened to me, I am 100% sure that the pin is correct. I opened my trezor one after a long time, and pin does not work I am at 500 sec of waiting time now.
I will try what others have said, i.e. Installing old suite.
Mannn this is wierd, it forced me to never buy trezor again.
Is this issue still not recognized by trezor team ?
Hi - As mentioned by @radekP it is possible to reset your PIN through the factory reset process. This is completely safe to perform so long as you have your wallet backup.
@AllieH52 Iām sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties accessing your Trezor.
Please be aware that if the PIN you enter is incorrect the device will double the amount of time it takes check the PIN and unlock until you enter the correct PIN (at which point the delay counter resets to 1-2 seconds). If the PIN is incorrectly entered 16 times in a row the device will wipe your seed, and you will need to recover it using your wallet backup.
If you have checked you have the correct backup, but are unsure of the PIN you might want to go ahead and wipe the device now to reset the PIN.
Had the SAME Issue with my Trezor T that I purchased 11/2022. Used my pin that I had also written down. Wouldnāt work and after having to wait for the next day with lock out time. I decided to factory reset it and enter my seed phrase that I had triple backed up on paper writing only. I go to enter my seed phrase and it is unable to recover. Very frustrating. No help on my post so far⦠ugh. I made my post if anyone wants to look on my profile.
I faced this issue and I was able to recover using seed, but this is an issue.
Correct pin , after a while does not work, we have to fix this in trezor firmware.
Please escalate this issue , for further investigation.
@hitman If you believe your Trezor is entering the wrong numbers when you go to enter your PIN (e.g. you press 0 and the Trezor enters it as 1 instead), I would recommend opening a support ticket via our Chatbot Hal so we can assist you further.
This weekend my Trezor 3 randomly decided not to accept my pin anymore which is 100% correct and checked, I have now 9 attempts left and cannot access my funds. Has Trezor even addressed this 4 year old issue? If I had found this thread before my purchase, I definitely would not have gone ahead. I have raised a ticket with the bot/email.
Hi,
just to balance with something positive. Since 2022 Iām happy user of Model T and last year i added TS5 to my collection. I never faced PIN issues, even when the device was not in use for couple of months (half years etc.).
My success story is mostly based on taking self-custody as serious discipline and well designed recovery scenarios
Anyway, PIN or complete device malfunction canāt be show stopper here, when you have valid wallet backup. Take it as an opportunity to verify your self-custody & recovery policies.
