Pin being entered on my Trezor without my input

I was beginning a transaction to send tokens from my hot wallet to my Trezor today when suddenly I saw a pin being entered on my Trezor but I wasn’t touching the device! This was alarming to me so I immediately disconnected my Trezor from the computer. I reconnected my Trezor and completed the transaction successfully. Then when I was getting ready to stake, and needed to enter the pin on my Trezor, again, numbers were being input onto my Trezor but I was not touching it! Very alarming. I am scared to plug the device back into my computer. Has anyone encountered something like this? Thank you!

Hi @Avi8tor,
interesting… What about when you connect the Trezor to phone charger? Will you see the same issue without USB data connectivity to computer? In that case i would guess the unit is faulty - like in case of touchscreen device being permanently “pressed” etc.

Just a wild guess…

Electrical interference, e.g., from a charger, or from a monitor that is plugged into a separate outlet, can cause “ghost touches” on your Trezor touch screen. You would see this as random places being pressed.

Try using your Trezor when your laptop is not plugged into charger or other external devices.
In some cases, using a powered or even unpowered USB hub can help.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll give it a try and report back.

Very possible! I was on my laptop and it was charging when my Trezor was plugged in. The chords may have been touching. I was too scared to try using my Trezor again until I heard from some others in the community. I’m encouraged by the replies!

I think you solved it! Everything just worked perfectly with my Trezor. Electrical interference seems to be the correct diagnosis. Thank you.
