I have a Safe 5 and just purchased a Model T. Before I set the T up, I wanted to find out if the procedure as my safe 5 is already in the suit. Would I be able to use each one with the same suit? Can I have both plugged in at the same time?
Reason for the two wallets, is my wife & I are in competition to see who can save the most (Inside joke) Anyone who has knowledge on this, your advise will be approached.

that’s not a problem. Trezor Suite will display currently connected device. Device will be even displayed in left upper corner - rotating true picture of your connected device. So you can clearly see the difference if TS5 or model T is currently plugged in by rotating model.
And yes, you can have both devices plugged in at the same time and choose between them. You have different model so you will immediately see that as mentioned above, but it make sense to use labeling feature of your HW wallet, so you clearly know current state. For example it can be labeled like:
