Moving from Trezor one to Safe 3

Hi.
What’s the best practise when upgrading from a T1 to a Safe 3 while keeping the original seed and passphrase?

  • should I recover the wallet using the Safe 3 first (and at that point have two devices on one seed)?

  • If I do that are there any potential issues?

  • Will the Safe 3 mirror the T1?

  • Once complete, should I then wipe the T1 or is it better to have two devices active for the same accounts?

Advice welcome. Thanks.

This is the most convenient way. I just bought safe3 and I am going to do the same.

Thank you for responding

You’re welcome. I currently have 2 Ones and 1 T, all with the same wallet. The new safe 3 I ordered will also use the same wallet. In the future, I will carry a safe 3 with me when I go out, and I can use it to log in to Microsoft and Twitter directly.

Where is the safest place to buy? Trezor io ?

Some people online saying it’s not safe to buy direct given the ledger hack but I don’t get what they mean…

Usually it’s out of concern that their email might be leaked if our order database is hacked. Note that we intentionally damage order data including name, address and telephone number three months after purchase. More details about this policy are available on our User data protection page.

It sounds like you’re already familiar with the Trezor Safe 3 setup process, but if you want a refresher on how to recover a wallet, you can consider buying a Trezor Expert onboarding session to assist with setting up and using your device. It’s currently 50% off for Black Friday :tada: Pro tip: If you want to do it with me, just send us a response to the booking email asking if it’s possible to book it with Nick

Please let me know if you have questions about either of these things :grinning:

yes

Don‘t mind this. Products purchased from the official website are the safest.
