Trezor model T, firmware 2.8.10
I want to downgrade the software, but every time I do it I get the error Error: Cannot downgrade to this version.
I can’t even downgrade to 2.7.2
I download the software from here data/firmware/t2t1/trezor-t2t1-2.6.4.bin at master · trezor/data · GitHub
trezor-core version 2.8.7 is a break point - once you upgrade over that version, it is not possible to downgrade below it.
From 2.8.10, it is only possible to downgrade down to 2.8.7.
(this applies to Trezor T, Trezor Safe 3, and Trezor Safe 5)
Why do you want to downgrade?
After the update my hidden wallet doesn’t work. It shows a completely different address. The password is 100% correct, I used it very often and it always worked. I read that downgrading the software can help
I see, that is unfortunate.
There were no reported cases ever in which a firmware downgrade would resolve a problem with the passphrase. So it is highly unlikely that it would have helped anyway.
Still, it would have been good to be able to rule it out.
If you are technically inclined, or have a trusted friend who is, you can build a custom firmware from the lower version tag. With a trivial modification of a version flag, it will be possible to install the firmware to your Trezor and check it this way. (of course, installing custom firmware will wipe your existing seed and you’ll have to restore it from backup)
