Disabling FIDO from Model T so I can load New Safe 5 Wallet onto my account on Braiinspool with workers already attached

I have had an account with two machines on it for a while. I don’t want to go into specifics, but I shared the account with another person that had a wallet on it with a machine as well (Family member). We cahsed out, and he gave me the machines. I want to delete the old wallets, and put my new wallet on my current account, and then just put my new wallet on the machines that are already on the account, but FIDO will not let me. After reaching out to Braiinspool, they said if I had possession of one of the wallets that I could disable it from a message from my old Model T wallet, but it keeps saying 2FA is unregistered (Which it is not), and I can’t do anything.

Note: I have moved the physical machines to another city for free electricity, so I don’t want to create a new account on Brainspool / slushpool, then add the machines, and etc. i’d like to just get access into this account and disable FIDO so i can just delete the wallets, finishing adding on my new Trezor Safe 5 wallet, and plug these things in and move forward. braiinspool told me to reach out to Trezor, so here I am. Any help or step by step guides?

I am the Master admin of the account, and I now have access and codes to both wallets on the account. the other wallet was a family member (again) and cashed out. So any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Hello @CNS

It sounds like you’re dealing with quite a complex situation regarding your wallets and machines. Since you mentioned that you’re the Master admin and have access to both wallets, let’s go through some steps that might help you resolve the issues with FIDO and the wallets on your account.

  1. Check 2FA Settings: Since you’re getting a message that 2FA is unregistered, double-check the 2FA settings on your account. Make sure that the device or application you are using for 2FA is correctly linked and functioning.

  2. Disable 2FA Temporarily: If you can access your account settings, try to temporarily disable 2FA. This might allow you to make the changes you need without the 2FA block.

  3. Using the Old Model T Wallet: Since Braiinspool mentioned that you could disable the wallet through a message from your old Model T wallet, ensure that you’re sending the message from the correct wallet and that it’s connected properly.

  4. Contact Trezor Support: Since you’ve already been directed to Trezor, reaching out to their support team with all the details you’ve provided here can be very helpful. They might have specific instructions based on your situation.

  5. Document Everything: Keep a record of all communications with Braiinspool and Trezor. This will help you if you need to escalate the issue or refer back to previous messages.

  6. Wait for Responses: Sometimes, these issues can take time to resolve, especially if you are waiting for support teams to respond.

Hi and thank you or your response. Here is some additional info.

  1. When I go to Brainspool, it does show that the 2FA ID is disabled. I had thought about enabling it, but to what wallet? The original model T? or the new Safe 5? I don’t want to go further down a more difficult road, but 2FA in Brainspool is disabled, FIDO is enabled.

2.I think the above solves this issue, partially, but again, what wallet to choose to do the 2FA…

  1. I have no idea on how to send a message from my old Model T to Braiinspool. I am the Master Admin, and when I try to disable the FIDO, it asks for me to plug in my trezor, I put in my pin, and click authenticate, and then I get a error stated unregistered 2FA. or something to that manner. If needed, I can go through the process again and try to get exacts through pictures. I would think the Old Model T wallet would do this automatically, but apparently, it is not. I know it is connected properly, but it is registering my pin, as well as commands on my trezor to proceed and try to authenticate and then Braiinspool is acting in the FIDO window closes.

4.I looked for Trezor to help with this “sending a message” on the website, but it kind of sent me here, and that’s why i am in the forums asking for help. it would be nice if Trezor could help me because Braiinspool is not so helpful. I think they are trying, but at the same time pointing the finger to the wallet, which I get. Im just a bit pissed about it.

5.I have all documentation with braiinspool, but none with Trezor. Help with contacting an actual person or an email to talk about this would be great but the thought it this taking about an estimated week si just aggravating me even more. Sorry for the venting.

  1. You said it best. Braiinspool has been great. I will say this. I was a COMPLETE rookie when I did all fo this and had a friend help me set this up that I trusted, but he is no longer available to help. He even left the room when I had to do things like my pin, and 12-24 seed words. a real guy that was helpful and honest. But now that I am here and picking up 3 years later, boy the ramp feels steep again and its frustrating having machines sitting idol. I guess I could come up with a completely new email and new account and drive to the machines (4hours away 1 way), hook them up and drive back, but damn. It would be nice if I could jsut add my new wallet, delete the old ones and plug them in and start getting some bitcoin going.

Thank you again for your help and if there is any way to help expand on points 1, 3, and 4, I would appreciate it very much!

hello,
so first off please ignore dear @Friedrich017 , he is obviously just spouting (most likely) AI generated generic filler that has zero to do with your current situation.

Second: FIDO and your wallet are two independent things. It seems that you have registered the FIDO 2FA to something; it might have been your Trezor, or it might have been something else.

I would think that they mean Sign Message functionality. If your Trezor is still loaded with the same seed, which has access to the same address, I’m guessing you could prove ownership of that address via Sign Message, and get the Braiins support to unlock your account that way.

But you’d need to follow their instructions to do that.
