Buying from Amazon

Hi, I’ve bought and used model T and Ones from Amazon. Some I’ve been using for over 2 years. I’ve never had an issue.

Crypto folks into security say I should never buy a hardware wallet from Amazon, saying devices could be swapped out for fakes in the warehouse, or other other tamperings between the manufacturer and me.

So:

• Are these guys just being neurotic and overly cautious?

• Is there any way to check if my trezors are genuine and untampering with?

• Should I avoid buying on Amazon?

Hi @Donn It is always good to be cautious especially in cryptoworld. However frankly speaking there is in my professional opinion nothing wrong with the device security. As you said, sometimes the plastic foil wrapping the package can get ripped (as it is not so strong) however that is not a big deal as the most important thing is that the holographic seal was intact.
