My new trezor 5 arrived and I set it up with new private keys and a passphrase (secret wallet). I moved some btc there
I already had downloaded the latest version of the trezor suite a week or so ago.
Then I thought I would open up the Trezor T on the suite as well. Put in the pin and the passphrase. Msg is displayed 'Passphrase duplicated. The passphrase wallet you are trying to add has been already discovered. ’ Click on the and it opens up with zero balance. Not showing my btc
I would like to know what the h&& is going on… Have the software testers at trezor actually tested the trezor suite with multiple older models or not???
After being worried about the zero balance I opened up my wifes laptop and downloaded the trezor suite. Plugged in the pin and the passphrase and it showed the correct balance. My funds are there.
What is this bug? Can someone please explain it to me before I lose confidence with trezor in general
I ended up deleting the ver of suite to the trash bin and downloaded it again. Repeated the above test. Same error message re duplication.
I opened my wifes apple mac and did the test with the trezor hardware wallets that I have. It works ok. It seems that theres a bug/ fault with my apple mac. Most unusual.
@dogsgalore that could indicate you are accessing the standard wallet via the passphrase wallet function (a standard wallet and a passphrase wallet with a blank passphrase are the same wallet). Please double check that when you enter your passphrase it displays correctly on the Trezor device’s screen. Make sure you are also doing the following please:
• Double-check for typos or misspellings in the passphrase.
• Ensure the correct use of uppercase and lowercase letters.
• Check for any spaces at the beginning or end of the word.
• Test multiple combinations and variations.
settings, app storage, clicked on the reset button
Re tested it. Still have the problem.
Then I decided to send the trezor suite to trash and download again. Re tested it and same problem
My macbook pro laptop is an M1. I had previously downloaded the latest version of mac.
I decided to use my wifes macbook pro which is not an M1. Its about 4 years old. I downloaded latest ver of mac software. Downloaded the same version of trezor suite and repeated the following test:
plugged in my Trezor one wallet put in the pin using the device. Selected passphrase wallet and input the password on the laptop. No error message displayed at all. Tokens are in the wallet. Unplugged it
plugged in my Trezor T wallet put in the pin using the device and selected passphrase wallet. Input the pin using the trezor T device. No error message displayed at all. Tokens are in the wallet. Unplugged it.
Im guessing therefore that the problem herein is caused by the M1 mac laptop operating system?
Please raise a fault/ bug in your system. Or contact me if you want to pay me to test this further for your company.
